Writer Bio

Bio for Laurie Epps, written by Edie Melson

Words have always been some of Laurie Epps’ best friends. So it’s no wonder she’s grown into a freelance writer, essayist, and poet. You can find her work in many independent publications, on and off the web, including: http://www.guideposts.org/blog/a-time-to-dance

Laurie also does a range of ghostwriting from technical to creative pieces. She’s also active in numerous, local writing groups, encouraging and networking with writers from all over the country.

Laurie is also a single mom, and is still raising her youngest daughter, Chloe. She's also the proud mommy of two grown daughters. A professor and educator, Laurie's day job is at a community college inspiring the next generation of writers. Laurie is also a proud momma of three furry-babies; Laurie has turned in more than one manuscript with cat fur on it. When not teaching or writing, Laurie gets in as much beach time as her budget will allow, loves to attend the Opera and Ballet, and she enjoys cross-stitch & knitting. Laurie’s sports teams are the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys.
